feeling crazy.

I'm in the midst of tranferring my crazy all inclusive notebook
into several seperate notebooks.

you know, getting organized.
softening the blow of school starting and opening a show at the same time.

I'm the kind of girl that needs about 5 different notebooks.
Since i'm also a listy kind of girl, the first one i'm starting on is the notebook dedicated only to lists.

feeling crazy.

18 July 2012

i lied. we do have a life. sort of.

I must have lied when i said nothing much has been happening.
I was thinking about that statement last night & plenty has been happeneing.

I just havent felt like putting any of it here.

lazy.

so here's what's been going on.

we made a couple of interesting purchases:
Lagoon season passes
&
a not so new, but new to us, slutty as fuh car named Brooke.
{alan drives her}

I got officially hired as a seamstress at the ISU costume shop.
This is for pay, ya'll.
i suppose we're all pretty shocked about that.

I started swimming with an adult practice team in the mornings.
It's my new favorite way to excersize.
I hated it at first, but i've improved and now its a party.
Okay... and flip turns are really the best part.

I auditioned for a new show.
Rent.
Got in.
It has incredible music.

I'm going to the Dentist tomorrow
.... for probably the 80th time this summer.
But i'm actually getting work done which, if you know me..
makes me nervous.
We spent forever searching for the right guy for the job.
And the day has arrived.
yuck.
glad i'll be sedated.

We got ourselves hooked to vampire diaries.
I guess it seems pathetic the way i love TV.
But that show is so great.
Any other vampy creeps out there?

All in the details, i suppose.
at least now we know i dont just sit on my butt all day.
just, like, 50% of it.

how i stay productive

Well, i dont. but here is how i've been TRYING

1. interrupting sessions of school work to play draw something.
it's rewarding. sort of.

2. begging the husband for a massage, or a back scratch. or to just play with my hair.
{while i take a short break from homeworking.}

3. taking a break to go play outside.
even if it's frisbee golf. which i am most certainly the WORST at.

4. taking another break to get some fro yo, ice cream, or something else sweet.
stimulates blood flow. or something.

5. giving in and getting shiz done.
how exciting.

i think what i am saying is. i am not in any way productive.
somehow, things are coming along. sortof
homework can ALWAYS wait till tomorrowish.

06 April 2012

5

5 things that i dont understand and i know they are trendy and try as i might i just dont get the hype or how people enjoy them and is it only because hollywood and bloggers endorses them that people 'pretend' to like them so they look like they're in the loop???? Phew.

1. coconut water

Rhianna is the poster girl for it and about every hollywood starlet is seen leaving the gym with it. I know its a great sport drink, but good hell. It Naaaasty.

2. Quinoa

Lauren Conrad swears by it. I cant pronounce it. All i know is i ended up making a Quinoa salad and i threw that garbage up. I cant even look at it without getting sick. This picture is actively grossing me out. If what they say is true, i'm worse off for not eating this little gem. Fine by me, just don't make me eat it.

3. Essie nail polish

honey. be sensible. this polish chips like a 99% bonbon. Sure, they have totes adorable colors and every big time blogger swears by this stuff, but what chu smokin' ladies? If you feel like spending 8 bucks on nail polish, get yourself some good old fashioned OPI or china glaze. Don't trust a ho.

4. Adele

You'll probably hate me for this....don't get me wrong. She's beautiful and i DO enjoy her songs. They are great. I dont, however enjoy hearing her sing them. The woman had an aneurism on her throat. That means her vocal chords are smacking together so much that they are becoming paralyzed. I know the jazzy sound is her thing, but when she sings, all i can think about is how much it sounds like it hurts.

5. The secret lives we lead on...

Sometimes i am under the impression that i am friends with the most artful, beautiful, skinny, spiritual, perfect friends with glorious homes, beautiful wedding pictures and classy little chillens with trendy legwarmers and headbands. Then i see you people in person and am sorely dissapointed. Why didnt you stick with your no sugar for 3 years and cute little running log you pinned a month ago. Why you still chubby? Why does your house really look like this?
And why arent your walls garnished with adorable things that you hand made all. by. yourself?? How come you dont really wear fun colored skinny jeans? Why arent you as witty as your someecards board would have me think? Disappointed in every last one of you! (i'm clearly being tongue in cheek and if you are legitimately offended, i have a pinterest. Find me. we can compare boards and talk about who has the cutest dream bathroom).

Thats my fab 5 for the week. woot.

08 October 2011

a post with no direction

(1) today, i miss the ocean.

(2) my life has become strangely reminiscent of my junior year of high school.
I loved that year.

(3) i have a cold that is straight pissin' me off.

(4) incubus pandora station. ohmyheck. so enjoyable.

(5) my micro economics class will be the death of me. i've never felt more unprepared for a test in. my. life. and i've attended every class. and gotten tutored.

a list

It's weird.
i'm stressed.
but there isnt one facet of life that's stressing me out,
just a plethora.
school, where to live, acting, singing, money, time, you name it.
on their own, each is not big deal.
together, stressful.

i decided to make a list of what is stressing me the F out.
it made me feel a little better.
then i made a to do list.
and a mini budget.

but i feel more in control.
not so cray.

contradictions

One of my lovers {above} asked her readers to spill about their juicy contradictions.
By the way, its really hard to come up with contradictory things about yourself when you're used to those contradictions being you.

However, I've managed to come up with a few.

i am a musicianathlete. Somehow i stay dedicated to both.

speaking of being a musician, how contradictory is it that i hardly ever listen to music casually.
(that does not include this summer. because i have so much time on my hands while i work and when i run.)

i like apple juice, apple sauce, dried apples, apple flavored gummies, etc... but i am not a fan of just plain apples. boring & not that great.

I love organization. Lists, piles, etc. BUT my house is seldom picked up. whoops.

Performing in front of 1000 people is way less scary than 5 people. at least, to me...

check out limegreenmoviegirl to share your contradictions and read others!

07 February 2011

sometimes

sometimes i wake up and look forward to going to the beach. then i remember that its a few degrees outside and oh, i live in idaho.

sometimes we run out of toilet paper. then, i'm too lazy to go and hold it until it hurts real bad.

sometimes i come home and have no homework. then, i continue my evening by sitting around and definitely not getting ahead in anything.

sometimes i get self conscious about talking about myself to much. then i become even more self conscious about the things i post that contain too many iiiiii's.

sometimes (alot) cliches bug so bad that i get really uncomfortable. then i am forced to plug my ears and close my eyes figuratively, but on the outside look like i wasn't bothered at all. {why do i do that?}

ha weird. goodnight.

Merry New Year

..and that means my 365 photo project will commence here.

I'm not a big resolution person, but I could do with some self betterment.
And besides that, I'm having some high expectations for this year.

I know life will always be hard, but this year has been hard in weird ways.
I'm hoping this resolution below, accompanied by the rest that are in my head until i make it to a piece of paper will find me a lovelier person.

Also, to anyone who I have offended or upset or made feel little, especially this past year, I am sorry. Thats definitely not who I want to be.

I want to Be a more jolly/happy/nice/understanding/forgiving person. {resolution}

Happy new year and love to you all

...of pretending celebrity gossip is disinteresting, but reading this daily. (and loving it)
...of not practicing for probably 3 weeks.

And LAstly,
Very Very Guilty of ever looking like this:

Some Childhood..

1. Where did you grow up?
Boise, Id- From the time I was 2 until just before my tenth birthday. We then moved to Idaho Falls and I lived there for about ten years, where I graduated college.

2. Do you consider your childhood a happy one?
I think it would break my parents heart to hear me say it wasn't up to par, but I was the center of a lit of anger. I don't think I was a bad kid, but somehow I dont think I was up to par for my parents. Also, the move from Boise to Idaho Falls was jarring. The kids in Idaho Falls were not nice to me and I suffered from a low self-esteem. I try not to place blame, but I feel that my current issues date back to people making fun of me then. I still got made fun of in high school, and I never seemed to fit in, or matter to anyone.(1)

3. Do you have any siblings?
Two little sisters that are both wayy younger than me. But they are growing up and are pretty bomb!

4. Who did you think was the smartest person in the world?
I grew up learning about God. I learned he created everything. Although I couldnt put that together when I was super young, I think I always knew.
5. Did you ever run away from home?
Sometimes, if my mom was mad at us, me and my sister would go outside to the backyard and play that we were running away and living in a fort (a play house/ jungle gym). We would sneak back into the house to get food, or pick premature vegetables (that would get us into further trouble later on) while pretending we were 'hunting'. We had such amazing imaginations.

6. What about being a child do you miss the most?
I miss when a good day entailed going swimming and getting an Icy and maybe rollerblading/ riding bikes with the neighbour kids.

7. Where did your family go on vacation?
We drove to Boise alot after we moved. We've also been to California a number of times.

8. What is something you really wish you hadn't started earlier in life?
I wish I would have gained confidence and believed in myself. Things might have turned out different.

9. Did you have any serious accidents or illnesses as a child?
I broke my arm when I was realllllly little. I barely remember that. As a baby I had some crazy allergies but basically, I was a pretty heathy kid.

10. Did you have any nicknames?
Well, my mom really wanted Karmel to stick, but it did not, thankfully.
I was known as Mel by many.
11. Name 5 school days accomplishments.
  1. I won the Science fair in 5th grade and got 2nd place the next year
  2. Because of the food fight I helped initiate, soup no longer was on the menu.
  3. I got a B in Geometry. For me, that is so impressive.
  4. Volleyball and Basketball..um I played both? I guess that's an accomplishment.
  5. I was best female vocalist my Senior year of high school.
12. What stories have been told about yourself as a baby?
None that I feel the need to type out.

13. Did religion/church play a part in your childhood social activities?
Yes, girls camp was a summer bawl fest that I wanted no part of activity.

14. What objects do you remember from your childhood?
Oh my here we go:

(1) ok sorry, this is so not a pity party. ITs just how it is.

Peevin'

You'd probably peg me for the kind of person that has a million pet peeves. I actually have five(1):
  • Socks with sandals
  • the usage of your and you're interchagably.
  • Cutesy intentional misspellings 'u', 'r', 'lite' etc.
  • The sound of too much spit in someone's mouth when they talk
  • lazy people
  • shopping carts with a broken wheel
Today, I would like to add a 6th and 7th.

  • Taking pictures with your positive pregnancy test
  • Posting that picture anywhere on the Internet
Seriously? What is that about besides being freaking disgusting? Being tacky as well?
HA!

(1) lies, these are just the ones i could think of. I do have a million.

10 things I've learned about Virginia

1. I'm pretty sure the roads here aren't supposed to make sense. They swerve like, a lot, and two bisecting roads can have the same name.
2. Just because you (I) can drive and navigate successfully through Salt Lake City, does not mean you can navigate to Walmart in Norfolk. Least of all without a GPS.
3. You can count to 5 after a light turns green before you can actually step on the gas. (Why?)-->
4. Welcome to the state of 'Just ridin' the coattails.' Nearly 5 people go through every "yellow" light here.
5. Black and White people are each an even 50% here. My first grocery shopping trip was a huge culture shock. I am not racist, p.s.
6. All of the sudden, you're on a freeway.
7. People here do not know where Idaho is.
8. Humid. I walked around the Ghent District yesterday in 80 degree weather with high high high humidity...I literally had sweat dripping down my back while i was waiting for my frappucino at Starbucks. (Coffee free of course!! Also, it was a frozen drink...)
9. Speed on the freeway is monitored by AIRCRAFT. Thus, everyone SPEEDS!
10. Lastly (and most importantly learned on my first day here when we nearly escaped a fatal car accident): There is one traffic law in Virginia...don't get in a wreck.
