who has time to read?

I checked this book out at 3:00pm yesterday and finished it at 10:00 am.
If you're into suspense, it's a good one.
Not scary, but mysterious.
Don't get scared off by the description.
I thought it would be difficult to read being that it's about suicide.
NOT SO.

It's a beautiful book:)

GO READ.

a friday treat

I came across this cinamagraph by photographer Jamie Beck.
I seriously couldnt stop staring at it.
it's magic.
It's like the books and newspapers in the wizarding world.

Made my Friday.
HAve a happy one!

140

i dont use and am not using social media as a personal gym log, or as a tool to brag.
&, i am not bragging.
just as a precursor.

i used to hate {and still kindof hate} reading about other people's great weight loss, because it made me jealous and a little annoyed
so if that is you, dont feel that way.
please dont feel like i am throwing my success in your face.
i've worked really hard.
i've obsessed about what to put into my body and how to exercise correctly.
{i wish i could be a personal trainer, or nutritionist a little}
but i am, for the first time in a long time, proud of my body.
i'm still not exactly where i want to be.
i'm slated to lose another 5 lbs before September rolls around.

but we took these pictures at the beach and i looked at them and i felt really good about them.
i apologize if my bikini'd body offends anyone, but i am pretty thrilled.
that's my excuse.

conclusion: i look good, and i feel really good.
now bring on the stress and late nights so i can re-gain my winter layer of fat before the freezing idaho temperatures are upon us

{fin}

Alan and I both finished up classes on Thursday and today was Alans graduation ceremony:)
I'm super excited and proud of his hard work...and a little jealous that he's done.

It's been a crazy semester and school year. It's had its ups and downs but there are a few people I want to shout out for making things bearable and even fun!

The rest of this post is just a bunch of thank you's and shoutouts that mostly just make me feel really good. I would be so ungrateful not to express gratitude for the amazing people that have been placed in my life. Feel free to skip.

First. I could not have made it through this year without Alan. He's been my shoulder to cry on and my driving force to keep on pushing through.

Second. My inlaws. They put us up in their house and never once said anything about the messes we leave around or drinking all their water bottles. We promise that when we get back from Virginia we'll only stay for like, 2 weeks. Seriously.

Third. My family. My parents have been such a big support to Alan and I. They are there to comfort us, help with monetary issues {medical bills. woof} and cook sunday dinner whenever we come up. We miss both of our families a whole bunch when we leave, but its nice to know that they support what we do.

Fourth. The friends I've made this year. And there are 3 girls in particular that have made a huge difference in my academic life. You know who you cray ladies are;) In January, I prayed so often that I could make some friends that I could be myself with, that shared my same values and understood how rough school can be. I'm going to miss you all over the summer!!

Fifth. I have to thank anyone who has helped me become more athletic and healthy this semester. Without even knowing it, my amazing spinning teacher, Carrie, wore down my mental block. I have gained a lot of mental strength working with her. Alan has worked to help me swim better and made it possible for me to do the tri. And I must give myself a little credit. I've pushed my limits. I never thought I would run a 5K race, let alone run it for fun a few times a week.

Sixth. There is a lady in my life that has misunderstood me as I've misunderstood her. It dawned on me a few weeks ago how much she really knows. She thinks that I dont care for her her, but she doesn't know what she's done for me. I see that now.

Happy summer:)

Because when the weather changes, I want a change

Spring is here {sort of}. With each new season, I feel myself thirsting for change as well.
I think I may start with a trench. And maybe I can be as cute as ms. Leighton. Seriously, gorge.

Also, I'm getting a cosmetic thing done. I dont want to reveal yet becuase I totes want you to see if you can tell the difference. Not that big of a deal. No surgery involved.

My hair needs a change, but I cant come up with anything satifactory, except to let it keep growing. So i guess I will let my hair be. For now.

A healthy body. Which is already coming your way with the triathlon i mentioned a while ago. I'm not putting big weight or size stipulations on myself because I dont think its necesarry and it can be unhealthy.I am natually a healthy eater, but working out and pushing myself is hard for me. I've changed my workout to be more about what I accomplish and not just the time i put in. Through this, my body is transforming and my muscles look and feel great. I feel really good and this triathlon is going to be something I'll be proud of.

Eyebrows. Bushy and beautiful is in style. I'm growing them out baby. And if that sounds sick, just wait. They will be tender.

Meet Penelope Panda

Background Info:
Ever since I can remember, I have been enamored with stuffed animals.
Seriously, I was that kid. Barbies were sub-par and baby dolls were ridiculous.
I had 5 million stuffed animals, each with a name and a place in my room.
I played and played with those animals. Until I was much too old.
It was a sad day when my mom came to me with two black trash bags;
one for the keepers and one (or more) for the D.I. run.

Flash forward to 4 years later:
I have no pets.
No stuffed animals.
Niente.

Lucky for me,
All it took was a rough Thursday
and an intuitive husband.
And looky here, I have a new friend:
Penelope panda, my pillow pet.

kitty.

I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed a pet. Look at that baby kitty and tell me you dont think i need an animal.. Not counting pillow pets. I mean, I want a pillow pet pretty bad..but I need a live animal soul to accompany me. Preferably a pup, but this kitty is adorbs.

Heart-warmers

This ten-day-old dolphin was discovered by walkers on a beach near Montevideo, Uruguay. The baby Dolphin was nursed back to health.

Tender.
